抄録: | This Paper aims to clarify the discussions on reformation of cultural policy in Britain
since 1970s, focusing on the relationship with adult education.
In Japan, if we try to discuss on cultural policy or administration, the logic of
education tends to be criticized in terms of the restructuring of the board of education.
However, as we pay attention to the context in Britain, this topic seems to be a little more
complicated, which is discussed in chapter Ⅰ . A traditional cultural policy and adult
education (Chapter Ⅱ) changed in 1970s, from conveying estimated values of culture
to finding new ones. Triggered by new Secretary-General Roy Shaw, adult education
specialist, department of education was founded in The Arts Council of Great Britain.
ACGB encouraged arts of community and minorities(Chapter Ⅲ). Adult education
specialists as Roy Shaw, Raymond Williams, Richard Hoggart etc. also boosted these
movements. As they are known as specialists of cultural studies, their arguments was
built through the discussion in the field of adult education. David Jones was also one of
them. He saw adult education as each one’s definition activity of culture(Chapter Ⅳ).
These movements and discussions in Britain since 1970s have certain meanings in
studies in education and cultural policy in Japan. |
