Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine retrieval mechanisms in Autobiographical Memory. Two factors: first and second recall, recall methods were considered. The following results were obtained. a) There were no differences about recall numbers of autobiographical memory item between first and second recall, and between three recall methods. b) In recall patterns with age blocks, free recall and retroactive recall were alike in their shape. c) Subjects rated impressions of recall items, there was no difference between rating distributions of each recall methods. The Ratios of "very pleasant" and "very unpleasant" were very large. d) The numbers of recall repetitions in first and second recall had no difference between three recall methods. But there was difference between the ratio of repetitions to total recall in three recall conditions. e) In recall repetitions, rating of impression about recall concentrated both extremities more than total recall. f) In proactive and retroactive recall, the recall orders of repetition were almost same in first and second recall.
